When the word “Time” — comes like a flash to you ringing a bell, something spectacular must have been running through your mind; while majority’s heart would race to the clock on the wall or the watch on the wrist, just few will will take a solemn ride to reason the progress and existence of all things as a meaning of time. Either way, both are still very well a good answer to what time is — the former measures while the latter is the real deal.
I’m not an alien to words like — ” Time is not by our side”, “you have to take your time”, “Time is going” and all sort from diverse group of people, infact I believe you reading this must have uttered one or more of those words at one time or the other. So what is really spectacular about Time? My experience in the past few years on Earth might be an eye opener to something you didn’t know about time.
Far back when I was more younger than this, I have always look to this present with more enthusiasm — the look, the physique, life progresses in every ramifications and all, life has been fair, I’m here and I’m not disappointed but I have one more desire which is either to remain this young or go back to the past and keep going back and forth because the future seems locked up with old age, grey hairs and weakened strength.
I have been able to deduce from this experience that “Time” is not moving like we all thought, we are the one moving and even depreciating. The same morning and night has always be; just seasons permeates our world. Time will always be as long as God choose to let it be.
Meanwhile Time is short and limited. Are you shocked? Don’t be. Time is short and limited to every living creature on Earth. Time of of every living creature on Earth has been predestined by God; they can not be as long as there is Time but Time will always be as long as God wants it to be.
Having known these that time is always available on God’s side but man as a living creature has a short time, it is therefore of great importance to know what makes a good time on Earth. You will agree with me that a day spent doing unnecessaries while a good, main compulsory work laid waste is a wasted day. Have you thought of what the limited time of man was purposed for from inception? This leads us to another thing you didn’t know about Time.
Time is purposed, it has been purposed by God for a purpose, and what is the purpose? — to glorify God. The word of God says in psalm chapter 100 verses 2 and 3 :- Serve the Lord with gladness! Come into his presence with singing! Know that the Lord, he is God! It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. How then do we glorify God?
We glorify God by acknowledging that He is God, the Creator , worshipping his majesty and not only that; by living our lives in relationship and faithful service to Him. The book of 1samuel chapter 12 verses 24 says :- Only fear the Lord and serve him faithfully with all your heart. For consider what great things he has done for you.
We cannot glorify God without God because our fallen state has separated us from him, it’s therefore of importance for everyone to come to the throne of grace bought by the precious blood shed at Golgotha. The more we move closer to God, the more our purpose and love of God becomes clearer to us.
And the intriguing part of it is that, Time will metamorphosize to an everlasting. You didn’t know but I’m telling you that the limited time of man now will transform to unlimited where man will forever live, but I’m afraid the Time everlasting of many will be spent in eternal toment. How you are spending this limited time is a pointer to where your Time eternal is going to be.
Time can be wasted. You see, facts keeps coming in about time, Time spent with activities doing things that apportioned eternal lost is a wasted time, every time spent on sins is a wasteful time, it’s now left for you to choose.
1 John 5 verse 11 to 12 says:- And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.
That’s it, Time will always be, Man’s time is limited, time will transform to eternal, it’s now left for you to choose your time and make it count for eternal glory. This is the time to rise leaving behind wasteful time spent in the past and set your eyes on the Time eternal through total surrender to God and his only son Jesus and living in holiness and truth.
